PATIENCE - A Prelude

Imagine one situation where you are in. A Saturday morning. Finally a weekend after one tough week in which you had to work from morning to eve and be stuck in traffic afterwards. Yes, everyday. Even today, when most people are spending their time to hangout with their family, friends, or probably just relaxing at home, you still have a long list to be done. This is what you had planned : to wake up a bit late, have your tea and breakfast, and start working until afternoon because that's all the time you have before you go out with your loved ones. But this is what happened : yes, you woke up a bit late, had your tea and breakfast, but then when you were in the toilet, the door didn't want to open and you got stuck there for quite a while before your Dad finally opened it. What a waste of time! And then, you printed one of your work, the church bulletin, but...your printer wouldn't work and so you had to fill in the ink, waited for quite a while, and then print it. Meanwhile, your parents kept asking you how long you were gonna use that printer because they needed it too. Another waste of time and a nag you didn't need to hear on a busy Saturday morning. Typical?

And then you were thinking : God, I am doing this for You. Why are things so difficult?

"Love is patient", says 1 Corinthians 13:4, and as a christian, we know that God is love. Ergo, God is patient. And if we want to pursue God-like characters, then we need to learn about patience. That is why God teaches you and me every day by allowing us to meet with some people who just can't stop to annoy us or some situations where there's nothing we can do. We’re just stuck in there.

Believe me, it is not easy. But, once I realize that this life is like a school and God teaches me by testing me, my life becomes more peaceful. I know God never leaves me in any kind of tests. He is there, watching me, sometimes he lets me fail at first, but then he picks me up again and makes me learn to become better every day. My stories about this will be posted later...:) Have a good Saturday!!

Psst, be patient because God is still molding you. Don't rush :)

"Those who are patient have great understanding, but the quick-tempered display folly" (Proverbs 14:29)
